Dr. Xilin CHEN is a professor with the Institute of Computing Technology (ICT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).He is a Fellow of ACM, IEEE, IAPR, and CCF. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, multimedia, and multimodal human-computer interaction, especially focusing on bio-inspired feature representation and learning, human-centered perception and analysis, and scene understanding. He is / was a PI for the major and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), as well as the major projects of Science and Technology Innovation 2030 and the 973 Program. He was an Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. on Image Processing, and IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, and is currently Senior Associate Editor of Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation. Associate Editor of Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Associate Editor-in-chief of Journal of Computer, Associate Editor-in-chief of Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition. Dr. Xilin Chen served as a General Chair / Program Chair of several international and domestic conferences and program committee, and is / was a (Lead) Area Chair of ICCV CVPR / NeurIPS for more than ten times.

Dr. Xilin Chen has been awarded the second prize of China’s State Natural Science Award and the first prize of Natural Science of China Society of Image and Graphics. Dr. Chen was awarded the Beijing Municipal Teaching Master Award for his educational efforts. Dr. Chen has co-authored one book and published more than 400 papers in referred journals and conferences.
