Yi Liu, a Computer Science graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, formerly served as a Research Assistant in the GRASP Computer Graphics Group. Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Computer Science from the University of Michigan. Research and project experience span computer vision, physical simulation, and 3D graphics rendering. During the time at Michigan, participated in the LUX-ZEPLIN dark matter experiment, focusing on data analysis and machine-learning-based anomaly detection, with results published in Physical Review D. Later contributed to the Tactile-Augmented Radiance Fields project at the Computer Vision Group, published at CVPR 2024. Current research focuses on 3D scene generation through the integration of procedural generation and artificial intelligence. Developed multiple systems including a CUDA-based path tracer, a procedural ice-fracture simulation, and a first-person survival game using Unreal Engine, demonstrating capabilities in GPU programming, graphics algorithms, and engine development.
