2021 遥测式生理信号测量竞赛与论坛 (RePSS)

发布时间:2021-05-20

Previous RePSS: [RePSS@CVPR2020]

Background

Remote measurement of physiological signals from videos is an emerging topic. The topic draws great interests from both researchers and companies, and the number of published papers is growing every year. Despite the thriving research interests, the lack of publicly available benchmark databases and a fair validation platform are the major issues that hinder its further development. Kin researchers have to make repetitive efforts on self-collecting small datasets to test proposed methods, which makes it difficult to fairly compare and evaluate the actual strength and weakness of each proposed method, as self-collected data are of different recording conditions and qualities. For this concern, we organize the workshop on Remote Physiological Signal Sensing (RePSS) associated with ICCV 2021. This workshop will be organized in the form of “workshop + challenge” with the focus on heart rate measurement from color facial videos, aiming to provide benchmark data with a validation platform to facilitate future development of this research area.

As a starter, the 1st RePSS (in conjunction with CVPR2020) only includes one challenge task. This year as we expect a larger number of participating teams, two parallel challenge tasks (Tracks) will be proposed for the 2nd RePSS so that participating teams can choose to compete on one or multiple tasks.

Call for Participants and Papers

The workshop will be a complimentary part for the challenge that covers a wider scope, i.e., any paper that is related with remote physiological signal sensing but is not directly about any of the challenge tracks can be submitted as a workshop paper. The topic includes but is not limited to:

• New methodologies developed for remote measurement of all kinds of physiological responses of human bodies, e.g., heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and others.

• Hardwires/apparatuses/imaging system developed for the purpose of remote physiological measurement from face and body.

• New data collected for the purpose of remote physiological measurement.

• Solutions for special challenges involved with the remote physiological signal sensing, e.g., low quality video, poor illumination condition, motions, noisy backgrounds, etc.

• Applications of remote physiological sensing, e.g., for medical assessment in hospitals, for health surveillance at home or in other environments, for emotion assessment in various scenarios like for education, job interview, etc., for security purposes like liveness detection or anti-spoofing.
